Bitmap Sunset is a long-running project that visualizes Bitcoin block data as a 3D landscape. The latest version accessible via Atlas OS transforms block heights, transaction counts and other metrics into a stunning terrain—bars rising like skyscrapers across a sunset-lit world. It’s a mesmerizing and educational way to see block activity and has inspired early adopters of the Bitmap standard.
However, the interface is still bare-bones; there’s no legend explaining what each bar represents, and there are few interactive controls beyond moving the camera. I appreciate that the developers are working to add build features, but for now it’s more of a tech demo. Tooltips, a guide and the ability to load specific blocks would make it more useful for everyday users.

Looks amazing! Understood they are focusing on building tools that all BITMAP holders can use on their own BITMAPs. That’s the way. 🟧
What can I say… seeing is believing. Bitmap Sunset has captivated imaginations from the dawn of Bitmap. This has been an ongoing project demonstrating the beauty of block data visualized as a 3D map which has come in strides with customization and starting to add robust build features, with future versions looking extremely promising for the future of Bitmap.
